Water

The Town of Osoyoos operates and maintains a water system that provides drinking water to residents and businesses within the Town, as well as properties within Rural Water Systems 8 and 9.

The water system includes groundwater wells, reservoirs, pump stations, watermains, valves, hydrants and other infrastructure that work together to collect, store and distribute drinking water throughout the community.

Our Water System

Osoyoos currently relies primarily on groundwater wells for its drinking water supply. Water is pumped from underground aquifers and distributed through the community using a network of watermains, reservoirs and pumping infrastructure.

The domestic water system includes approximately:

  • 77.6 kilometres of watermain
  • 6 wells/pump houses
  • 4 reservoirs
  • 2 pump stations
  • 272 fire hydrants
  • 815 valves
  • Multiple pressure zones serving different elevations and areas of the community

The system also extends beyond the Town boundary to serve properties connected to Rural Water Systems 8 and 9
