Bylaw Offences

The Town uses municipal tickets and bylaw notices as tools to enforce local regulations. These are typically issued when voluntary compliance has not been achieved or when a violation is clear and ongoing.

A Municipal Ticket will need to be disputed in Provincial Court. A Bylaw Notice is an alternative enforcement option that allows for dispute resolution through an independent adjudication process.

These methods are intended to encourage compliance, not punishment. Most issues can be resolved quickly when property owners take action to correct the violation.

Persistent or serious non-compliance may lead to further legal action, including court proceedings or cost recovery through property taxes.
