The Resort Municipality Initiative (RMI) is a provincial funding program that supports tourism development in designated resort communities across British Columbia.
Through the program, resort municipalities receive funding to enhance tourism infrastructure, amenities and visitor experiences, with the goal of increasing overnight stays, supporting the local tourism economy and contributing to economic development.
The Town of Osoyoos is one of 14 communities in British Columbia that participates in the RMI program.
Participating communities are required to develop a three-year Resort Development Strategy, which establishes the community’s long-term tourism vision and identifies projects and initiatives that support the objectives of the RMI program.
Through RMI funding, the Town of Osoyoos can invest in projects and initiatives that enhance the visitor experience and support Osoyoos as a vibrant tourism destination.
