The Town of Osoyoos welcomes community events, celebrations, tournaments, fundraisers, and gatherings in our parks and public spaces. To help keep events safe, organized, and enjoyable for everyone, some activities require a permit before they can take place.
Whether you are planning a wedding, fundraiser, community event, or small gathering in a park, this page explains when a permit is needed and how to apply.
When Do You Need a Permit?
Park Use Permit
A Park Use Permit is generally required for:
- Small gatherings or events with fewer than 50 people
- Events taking place in a Town park or public green space
- Activities that may temporarily affect regular public use of a park
- Requests for exclusive use or park closures
Examples include: weddings, family reunions, small community gatherings, picnics or celebrations using reserved park space
Special Event Permit
A Special Event Permit is required for:
- Events with more than 50 attendees
- Public events held on Town property
- Events involving road closures, amplified sound, vendors, entertainment, alcohol, fireworks, inflatables, or open fires
Examples include: festivals, runs or walks, concerts, community celebrations, fundraising events, commercial events
Apply for a Special Event Permit
Applications should be submitted well in advance of your planned event date to allow time for review and approvals. A Special Event Permit must be submitted no later than 2 weeks before the event date.
