Property owners are responsible for maintaining all aspects of their property to prevent it from becoming an unsightly premise. This includes keeping sidewalks clear of snow, debris, and vegetation overgrowth. Property owners are also responsible for the basic maintenance of boulevard areas, including street trees and landscaping located between the property line and roadway.
Responsibilities of Property Owners:
- Prevent the accumulation of garbage, rubbish, and offensive or unsightly materials on your property.
- Derelict vehicles may not be stored on private property.
- All private property must remain free of graffiti.
- Snow Removal: Residents are responsible for clearing roofs, other structure or public sidewalks adjacent to their property within 24 hours following a snowfall. Commercial properties must remove snow no later than 10:00 AM each day and not use equipment which could cuase damage to sidewalks.
- Snow from private property must not be plowed or shoveled onto public roadways or sidewalks, as it can create hazards for pedestrians and vehicles. Snow should be placed on your yard whenever possible.
Boulevard Maintenance
- Residents and businesses are responsible for the basic maintenance of boulevards adjacent to their properties, including watering plants and clearing snow.
- Vegetation must be trimmed regularly to allow safe access to sidewalks, bikeways, and roadways. Trees, hedges, and shrubs must not obstruct intersection sightlines or interfere with on-street parking areas
