The Town's Mobile Vendor Program provides opportunities for mobile vendors to operate at pre-identified locations on Town-owned land.
Designated locations include:
- 85th Street Plaza
- Cottonwood Beach
- Goodman Park
- Gyro Beach – Bandshell
- Gyro Beach – Promenade
- Legion Beach, Safari Beach & Splash park
- Lions Park
- Pioneer Walkway
- West Bench Complex
The number of vendor spaces available at each location varies depending on the site and available servicing.
How to Apply for a Town-Owned Location
Vendors wishing to operate on Town-owned land must complete:
- A Mobile Vendor Program Application; and
- A Mobile Vendor Business Licence Application.
A vendor must also obtain a Licence to Use Agreement from the Town before operating on Town-owned land.
Applications for a mobile vendor program may be submitted between January 1 and March 1 of the year in which the vendor wishes to begin operating on Town-owned land.
Applicants are asked to identify their top three preferred locations from the Town's list of designated mobile vendor sites.
How Are Town-Owned Sites Assigned?
Designated mobile vendor sites are assigned using a first come, first serve system.
Once a complete application is received, Town staff will determine a suitable location based on the applicant's preferred sites and availability.
When assigning locations, the Town may also consider:
- Proximity to existing restaurants offering similar menus;
- The vendor's energy and servicing requirements; and
- Other factors specific to the vendor or proposed location.
Final site assignments are at the discretion of the Town.
If an applicant's top three choices are no longer available, the applicant may be given an opportunity to select from the remaining available locations.
Applying After March 1
Applications received after March 1 may only be considered if designated mobile vendor sites remain available.
Vendors interested in operating on Town-owned land are encouraged to apply during the January 1 to March 1 application period to have the best opportunity to secure a preferred location.
Licence to Use Agreements
A Licence to Use Agreement for a Town-owned mobile vendor site is valid for a term of two years.
Agreements do not automatically renew. Vendors wishing to continue operating on Town-owned land after their agreement expires must submit a new application.
A previous site assignment does not guarantee that the same location will be available or assigned to the vendor under a future agreement.
